There was a Daniel Floyd who married Diana Torrey on 28 Oct 1835 recorded in the Civil Records for Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, source FHL Number 10584. There was a Daniel Floyd born 18 Nov 1832 in Gorham, Cumberland, Maine to parents Edmund Floyd and Dilla Hicks, FHS film number 452082, page number 0022, reference number 52792. I have a copy of a marriage register from Town Clerk of Springfield [??] showing marriage on 3 Oct 1864 of a Daniel P. Floyd and Charlotte L. Parker. Groom was resident of Lebanon, [N. o8.??], 24 years old, first marriage [of groom], occupation farmer, born Lebanon, N.B., his father's name was Benj. Floyd and mother's name was Martha Whitmore. Name of Party officiating was Rev. Barton Burrows. Town Clerk was Saml. W. Porter. [received 19 Apr 1996 from Vickie White, 112 Vley Rd., Scotia, NY 12302 [CIS 102657,465]. Vicky also checked for records in Vermont for a Daniel Floyd b. 1813 but found none.   Birth Notes: Charles Allen Floyd's death certificate states the place of birth of his father, Daniel Floyd as Maine. No Record Found in IGI Vermont birth records for a Daniel Floyd born in 1813.   Death Notes: Death of Daniel is guessed based upon a notation in the 1900 Maine census that may indicate how long Maria had been a widow. That census is evidence that he died prior to 1900. There is no death record for Daniel after 1892 when Maine began to keep such records, according to Maine researcher Glenn Poole.   Noted events in his life were: 1. Census, 1850, Maine. 12 13 14 15 Three Daniel Floyds were listed in the index to the 1850 Maine Census: Floyd, Daniel Cumberland County, page 166 in Portland - Wife Harriet, son Chas. age 16 Floyd, Daniel Lincoln County, page 095 in Rockland - Wife Dianah, son Albert S age 13 Floyd, Daniel* Cumberland County, page 282 in Gorham.- Age 19, spelled Foyd * possibly misspelled name. Another Daniel Floyd was located for this census in Cooper, Maine on Page 227 MES6a1059169, according to Source#430, Sylvia Morkurt 3. Occupation: Shoe maker, 1880, Hancock, Hancock, Maine, U.S.A. 16 17 The 1880 census shows the occupation for Daniel Floyd as shoe maker with a 12 thereafter, probably indicating how long he had been in that occupation. 4. Military: Civil War, 1862-1863, Maine. 18 5. derivation: Floyd is a variant of Lloyd, a Welsh word llwyd meaning "grey. 19 20 Daniel married Maria Keiser-[1270] [MRIN: 417], daughter of (Unknown) Keiser-[1970] and (Unknown) (Unknown)-[1971], about 1867.1 2 3 (Maria Keiser-[1270] was born in Nov 1846 in , , Maine, U.S.A. 2 21 22.)   Noted events in their marriage were: 1.
