Sarah "...was the daughter of William Gillis of Flint, Michigan." Isabel Remington ..."lived with him for about a year, in 1913, and remembers that he carried ginger snaps in his coat pocket and would let her and Floyd get one or two out of his pocket each day and until she was 14 she called ginger snaps 'granddad cookies.' She still keeps her cookie jar filled with ginger snaps. She stopped calling them granddad cookies when her mother said it sounded silly to call them granddad cookies.
