Coleman Henthorn-[243] ¹

  General Notes:

Sgt. Co. F 27th Ohio Infantry. 2 Aug. 1861 to 18 Aug. 1864. Enlisted at
Ironton, Ohio. Have Military records from National Archives.
Married in Lawrence Cty. Lived in Symms Township, Ohio.
Have Death Certificate. (Death, Suicide by hanging.) Coleman was on a pension
as he was injured. Pension stopped for unknown reasons on 4 April 1893. He
committed suicide 2 July 1893. This was the probable reason.
Refers to Baptist Church in home of John B. Lease in 1857 Min. John Crandall who
organized a Church known as Bethel Church. Built a Church in 1877, on Sect 28.
Rev. Sliter was first to preach. Ceased regular services in 1884. This was in
the Town of STARK (STAR), La Farge, WI. A radius of 10 miles was known as
"SEELEYBURGH"after surveyor who plotted town in 1867 for C. W. Lawton.
Death Certificate gave Father's name as Lot Henthorn.
Have Death Certificate of Daughter Nora, born in Lawrence County, Ohio.
and died in Stark, buried in Bear Creek Cemetary, La Farge. Family plot,
wife Susan and several children.
Coleman and family moved to Stark, WI. sometime between Jul 29, 1873
and Sep. 20, 1876.
