Dene recalled a story told him by his mother about her mother, Mildred (Mom). When Mom was a little girl in Maine they used to send her out in the evenings to call the cows home. She was scared to death. After they moved to Pasadena Mom got a job after school delivering papers - on her roller skates! She also rode in the Rose Parade. On the Queen's float, if I'm not mistaken.

According to Darlene Brown, Mildred was born 12 Mar 1890 or 1891 in either Lemoine or Marlboro, Maine. 1900 Census indicates year was 1891.

On 6 Mar 1996, Kenneth Remington said he has the marriage certificate and diary of Mildred Remington. Barbara Goon shows year of marriage as 1909.
From a newspaper clipping showing five generations, with Osmer Marshall HARRIS, Leslie Ann (MANDEL) Harris (mother of Osmer), Isabel (REMINGTON) Mandel (grandmother of Osmer), Mildred FLOYD Remington (great grandmother) and Isabell M. Floyd, it was reported that the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Remington, 304 East I street was the first couple to be married ) (in 1910) in the First Christian church here (in Ontario, San Bernardino, California, U.S.A.).
Erik's information reports that Osmer and Mildred semi-retired on a small "ranch" in Grand Terrace (Colton), California, sold the ranch and moved into a small apartment, then a larger and then a still larger apartment as they became available in the home of Sarah Remington. Sarah was Osmer's mother and was in a nursing home. Osmer's brother, Elmer, also lived in one of the apartments... After several years, Mildred and Osmer bought a mobile home and lived in it in a mobile park on Holt Blvd., in Pomona. Later they moved it to 310 Philadelphia, #96, in Ontario where they each lived out their lives.
